Holistic Massage
A Holistic massage is a massage-based therapy that addresses not only the muscles, soft tissue and the physical body, but a deeper emotional and spiritual level of what those tissues are experiencing and expressing. The session is a combination of massage therapy and energy work. This type of work is deeply relaxing, working on many different levels.
Physical, you feel the effects of the massage as different techniques are used to reduce muscle tension and pain. The energy works on a deeper level which helps to connect the individual emotionally and spiritually. This combination of bodywork supports the body, mind and spirit into a deeper level of self-healing.
Healing sessions can often, bring up strong emotions and memories of past events, which your body believes is safe to release at that moment. Every person experiences healing differently, and depending on their life's circumstances, will make the shift when the emotional body believes it is safe to do so.
Deeply relaxing sessions...
Energy Work
An Energy work session involves, clearing and balancing the chakras, aura and energetic system, removing emotional blockages and cords, caused by fear and/or old belief systems which no longer serve us. A combination of energy work such as; Reiki, Polarity Therapy, Qigong, Therapeutic Touch, Jin Shin Jyutsu, Sacred Hawaii Lomi, verbal affirmations, toning, guided meditation, and intention work, is used to give the client the optimal healing potential.

CranioSacral Therapy
A cranio-sacral therapy session is a gentle technique, used to correct restrictions in tissue surrounding the spine, skull and its cranial sutures, and the diaphragm. The technique eases the motion and rhythm of the cerebrospinal fluid, fluid which surrounds and protects the brain and spinal cord. Enhancing the movement, and function of the cerebrospinal fluid, by eliminating restrictions and spinal imbalances, optimizes the function of the central nervous system. Cranio-Sacral therapy naturally releases tension deep in the body, and improves fatigue, neck and back pain, migraines, TMJ, fibromyalgia, emotional difficulties, PTSD, along with a host of other central nervous system disorders.
Ideal session for chronic headaches, neck & shoulder pain, TMJ issues
Whole Person Healing
Treatment involves the whole body and not just the symptoms or illness. Healing works on all levels: physical, emotional, mental and spiritual, opening your heart to the possibility of a shift in the way you view your world, and allowing acceptance of yourself as a multidimensional being.

Myofascial Release
Myofascial release consists of gentle targeted stretching techniques applied to the fascia (a thin layer of connective tissues which surrounds organs and muscles). Restrictions in the fascia due to trauma, inflammatory responses, and/or surgical procedures, cause pressure to the circulatory, neuromuscular, and musculoskeletal systems as well as various organ in the body.

Fascia extends throughout the entire body and when trauma occurs the fascia becomes uneven, shorten and tight creating pain. By applying the appropriate amount of sustained pressure to the fascia, it enables opening and the release of fascial restrictions. Once proper motion is then restored, and efficient blood and lymphatic circulation is reestablished, pain will diminish.

Massage Therapy
Massage therapy is a hands-on manipulation of soft tissue of the body; soft tissues include muscle, skin, tendons, ligaments, and other associated fascia, as well as joint capsules. Massage therapy uses different techniques to lengthen muscle tone, release muscular tension, congestion, spasms and encourage circulation through the tissues. Massage can vary in pressure throughout a session.
A general session may start with a Swedish massage, which will help to calm and relax your nervous system. Stokes, are usually slow, flowing and rhythmic, with not a lot of heavy pressure. As you become more relaxed the pressure will be gradually increased, to relax specific areas that carry more tension then the average muscle strain. The long soothing strokes along with a light, sometimes rocking energy touch; helps bring the body into natural synchronicity, to the world around them.

Theresa uses a variety of techniques in each massage session to address her client's concerns of pain, numbness, inflammation, limited range of motion, and muscular tension in the body. Theresa's knowledge of various modalities including; myofascial release, cranio-sacral therapy, trigger point work, and neuromuscular work, give her clients optimal attention when addressing projects of the body.

Ear Candling
Ear candling is deeply relaxing process for gently removing excess wax and toxins from inside the ears and eustachian tubes. Long, tapered cones are inserted into the ears and lit, the tacky powdery smoke generated by the beeswax cones spirals down into the eustachian tube, and removes toxins. As the cones start cleansing; toxins, earwax buildup will adhere to the candle, producing a variety of results.
Ear candling is a safe, relaxing and noninvasive remedy, and has been practiced for at least five thousand years by many different cultures. Benefits of ear candling include: removal of ear debris from nerve endings; detoxification of the sinus and lymph system; the sharpening of mental functions, vision, hearing, smell, taste and color perception.

Add ear candling on to any session for an additional $15

Deep Tissue
Deep Tissue Massage is used to physically break down muscle “knots” also known as adhesions, which may causes pain, blocks circulation, impedes natural movement and cause inflammation. Deep gliding pressure using elbows, forearm, knuckles, and thumbs applies concentrated deliberate strokes focusing on layers of muscles, tendons and facia. Although this session is less rhythmic then other massages, the slower pace allows focused attention to alleviate chronic pain, tension, muscle spasms, and pain, thereby restoring structural integrity to muscles.

Deep Tissue Massage uses neuromuscular therapy and/or trigger point techniques to correct and treat the underlying causes of chronic pain involving muscular and the nervous system, often causing sensations of aches, pain, tingling, or numbness. Either following or going across the grain of muscles, tendons and fascia, deep tissue techniques are best for giving attention to the areas causing; pain, stiffness, and limited range of motion. Trigger point therapy is used to deactivate nerve pathways, which often triggers referred pain at a distant location. As the pressure is held, pain in both locations will often subside creating elongation, pain relief and relief of fatigue and weakness in the muscle. Neuromuscular techniques help to correct and realign poor muscular posture, improve your joint mobility and restore your muscle balance and tone.

This type of work is best for individuals who are experiencing lower back pain, upper back pain, carpal tunnel like symptoms, sciatica like symptoms, hip pain, headaches, plantar fasciitis, calf cramps, tendonitis, knee pain, iliotibial band friction syndrome.

Reflexology
Reflexology is a manual technique used to strengthen, stimulate and support all glands, organs and body parts. The science and origin of reflexology dates back to ancient Egypt. The principle of reflexology is, there are reflex points in the feet and hands which correspond to all glands, organs and parts of the body.

Techniques are used to stimulate the complex neural pathways linking body systems, supporting the body’s efforts to function optimally. Pressure is applied to specific reflex areas predominantly on the client’s feet and hands, the practitioner uses a thumb-and-finger "walking" pattern, including gentle stretching and massaging of specific zones of the hands and feet, to promote benefits such as the relaxation, improvement of circulation, and support of normalized function of related organ, gland or body parts.
Cupping
Cupping is a Chinese modality used to dispel stagnation in the blood and lymphatic system. A vacuum like process with glass jars, creates a suction using pressure to pull skin tissue and muscle upwards. The suctioning out the air, causes the underlining tissue to be raised, and partially sucked into the cup, improving qi flow and circulation. Pain relieve of injured muscles is another reason cupping is used, it allows lingering toxins within the muscle tissue to be stimulated and pulled out of the body’s tissue.

Cupping to some individuals is relaxing and soothing, where others may not enjoy the tight sensation in the area being cupped. Depending on your comfort level the cupping may be moved around or left in one place.
Essential oils are extracted one of two ways: either by steam distillation or expression, flowers, bark, stems, leaves, roots or other parts of a plant. Essential oils, are the fragrant essence of a plant, not be confused with perfumes or other fragrance oils. Essential oils are natural to the plant, where as fragrance oils are chemically produced to mimic certain aromatic scents for perfumes, colognes, candles, etc. This practice of using the natural oils extracted from the plant, has healing properties which enhance psychological and physical well-being. There are a wide number of essential oils available, each with its own healing properties.
Essential oils are a complementary option in each treatment offered with Theresa. A brief assessment will be done at the begin of each session, to allow opportunity to tune into the need of the body and request of the client.
